Seloo — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

The Seloo mobile application ("App") is operated by Remote Security Co., Ltd., a company registered in Taiwan (Republic of China) ("Seloo", "we", "our", or "us").

By creating an account, signing in, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If we update these Terms, you will be asked to review and accept them again before continuing to use the App. Continued use after acceptance constitutes agreement to the updated Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Seloo. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account.

3. Account Registration

Seloo uses third-party authentication only. You may sign in with:

• Google Sign-In (Android and iOS)
• Sign in with Apple (Android and iOS)

You do not create a password with Seloo. By signing in, you authorise Seloo to receive basic profile information (email address and display name) from Google or Apple as permitted by their respective terms.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not allow others to access your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Seloo only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others.

You must not:

• Use the App to stalk, harass, threaten, or intimidate any person.
• Share or redistribute another user's location to any person outside their Circle without that user's explicit consent.
• Attempt to spoof, falsify, or manipulate GPS data transmitted through the App.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, its backend systems, or another user's account.
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App.

5. Location Sharing

Location sharing in Seloo is entirely voluntary and controlled by you.

• Location sharing is enabled or disabled per Circle. There is no global on/off toggle.
• When you turn off location sharing for a Circle, your active GPS data is removed immediately from the systems used to provide live location sharing. Other members can no longer see your position in that Circle.
• Your live location is displayed only to members of the Circles you have chosen to share it with. We do not use your location for advertising and we do not sell it. Access to location data inside our own systems is restricted to authorised personnel and technical service providers, and only where necessary to operate, secure, and maintain the service.
• Android: When location sharing is active, Seloo continues to transmit your GPS position in the background via a foreground service. A persistent system notification is displayed while background tracking is running.
• iOS: Background GPS transmission requires "Always Allow" location permission. If you grant only "While Using App", GPS transmission pauses when the App is minimised. You can change permissions at any time in your device Settings.
• On both platforms, you can stop background tracking immediately by turning off location sharing in the App.
• Seloo does not maintain a history of your past locations.

You are responsible for ensuring that any person you add to a Circle consents to sharing their location with you and the other members of that Circle.

6. Circles

A Circle is a private group of up to 5 members (including the admin).

• Free tier: up to 3 active Circles.
• Premium tier: up to 10 active Circles (when available).
• Circles may be permanent or time-limited (expiring at a date you choose).
• An archived Circle and its data remain accessible to former members for 30 days after archiving, in read-only mode. After that the Circle, its member list and its map tags are permanently deleted.
• A member who has been removed ("kicked") from a Circle by the admin cannot rejoin that Circle.
• A member who leaves voluntarily may rejoin if they have a valid invite code.

Seloo may adjust tier limits from time to time. Current limits are always available in the App.

7. Advertisements

The free tier of Seloo displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob.

• AdMob may use your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) to show relevant ads.
• On iOS, you will be shown Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may choose to opt out.
• Your GPS coordinates are never shared with AdMob or any advertiser.
• A future premium tier will remove advertisements.

8. Intellectual Property

The Seloo name, logo, and App design are the property of Remote Security Co., Ltd. You may not use them without prior written permission.

Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). See openstreetmap.org/copyright for details.

The tile images themselves are served by CARTO (the default "Muted" style) or by OpenStreetMap (the "Standard" style), whichever you select in the App. Both are credited on the map screen, and CARTO's own attribution terms are at carto.com/attributions.

9. Disclaimers

GPS accuracy. Location data depends on your device hardware, operating system, and network conditions. Seloo does not guarantee the accuracy of any GPS position displayed in the App.

Not an emergency service. Seloo must not be used as a safety or emergency location service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

Service availability. Seloo is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the App. Maintenance, updates, or technical failures may cause temporary unavailability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remote Security Co., Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Seloo in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

11. Account Termination

By you. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Account deletion requires re-authentication with Google or Apple to verify your identity.

By us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in abusive behaviour, or pose a risk to other users or to the integrity of the service.

Upon account deletion:

• You are removed from all Circles.
• Your active GPS data is removed immediately from the systems used to provide live location sharing.
• Your account record is marked as deleted. Your email address, display name and sign-in provider identifier are kept for up to 90 days for abuse prevention and then permanently overwritten; none of them is accessible to you or any other user in the meantime.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the version number and effective date at the top of this document. You will be required to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the App.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.

This does not remove rights you have where you live. If you use Seloo as a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and nothing in this section prevents you from bringing proceedings in the courts of that country where the law entitles you to do so.
